Gordon's artistic Statement
The people and prairie art I’ve done uses my rural roots with all those visual memories that go with it in a humorous look at the rural west. The artwork is sculptures and two-dimensional pieces combining images of people places and scenes of Western Canada in a mixture of traditional and non-traditional mediums. I take little pieces of a topic, the people or the artifacts they produced or their environments, and combine these images in a way that I hope is creative and interesting.
In the organic metallic pieces I am using the metalic components in an organic way. I like the contrast of metalic with other textures that I use to create these pieces.
I like metamorphic sculptures. In the From the Trees series I have been having figurative forms developing from or breaking free from tree-like shapes. It’s fun with slabs using contrasting textures.

Holly's Artistic Statement;
My subject matter is primarily landscape, and people. I like to capture the character of a person, or relationships within the environment. I paint my impression of the people, places, and things around me. I work from my own photographs because of my busy lifestyle and the detail I like to put in my pieces. My paintings are not precise copies; they’re realistic, yet painterly. The combination of composition, color, and texture, influence what I choose to paint.
